RivalReel - User Guide & Support

Welcome to RivalReel, a social media app where users can share pictures, videos, text, and other media with friends. Below are topics regarding the app's functionality. If you have additional questions or issues, support contact information is available inside the app.

1 Overview

RivalReel is an app where each user is presented with three challenges each day that are completed by taking a photo of your surroundings, what you're doing, or the people you are spending time with. These challenges are aimed at keeping you mindful and sharing your day-to-day life with your friends.

2 Challenge Types

There are three types of challenges: Community, Daily, and Flash.

Community - The same challenge is given to all users of the app and is available all day. This feature lets you compare your day and activities to your friends.
Daily - This challenge is unique to each user and is available all day. It allows you time to think about what you're doing throughout the day and share it with your friends.
Flash - This challenge is unique to each user and is only available for a short time period each day. This challenges you to show your friends what you're doing at a given moment.

3 Adding Friends

Enjoying RivalReel depends on having lots of friends added. Visit your profile page to add and manage friends. You can search for friends by username, invite contacts, or share your profile link.

4 Reporting Content and Blocking Users

RivalReel does not endorse or condone violent, private, sensitive, or sexual content on its platform. If you see a post that violates our user agreement, you may press the report button on the post viewer to let us know. Reported content is flagged and reviewed by our team. At this time you may also choose to block the user to stop seeing their content forever.

5 Permissions and Notifications

RivalReel requires access to your mobile device's camera to function. You will also be asked for optional permission to send you notifications. Notifications include, but are not limited to, reminders to complete pending challenges and friend request notifications.

6 Login and Signup

There are three options to create and login to your account:

Sign up with email and password - You may link this type of account with any of the other login types in the future by pressing "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple". If you forgot your password, you may reset it from the login page.
Sign up with Apple ID - Requires an Apple ID
Sign up with Google account - Requires a Google account
